Backorder Information for Customers and Guests

Most of the time, products are in stock and will ship immediately when ordered. Occasionally, there may be an unanticipated high demand for a product or other delay that could cause an item to be temporarily out of stock. In these cases, the out-of-stock item will be backordered for shipment to you at a later date. Any other items on the same order will ship in the normal time frame, if they are in stock.

    At Amway, we strive to keep our products in stock and readily available for immediate shipment. However, there are instances such as high demand or unexpected delays, that may temporarily render a product out of stock. In such cases, the out-of-stock item will be placed on Backorder, and we’ll ship it to you as soon as it becomes available.

    Please note that any other items included in the same order will be shipped within the normal timeframe if they are in stock. If an item on Backorder doesn’t ship within 45 days, Amway will cancel the order. You can cancel the order at any time, you do not have to wait 45 days.

    Notification of Backorder

    You’ll be informed about a Backorder through email notifications associated with each transaction. Additionally, the status of Backorder (B/O) will be visible on your online Order Details page when a product is placed on Backorder. If you have multiple products in the same order, the Backordered item and its status will also be indicated on the packing list you receive with the other products.

    If a product is known to be on Backorder at the time of your order placement, this status will be displayed prominently in red on the product page and in your online Shopping Cart.

    Shipping

    Once your Backordered item is available for shipment, it will be delivered to you using the shipping method you selected during your initial order placement.

    Payment

    Rest assured; you will not be charged for a Backordered item until it is ready to be shipped. If, for any reason, the Backorder is cancelled, you will receive an email notification, and you will not be charged for that item.

    DITTO™ Scheduled Orders

    If you use DITTO™ scheduled ordering and an item on your order is backordered, when it’s released, you'll get a notification.

    Canceling a Backorder

    To cancel a Backorder:

    1. Go to your Order History.
    2. Open the invoice for the order.
    3. Look for the Backordered product.
    4. You’ll find the option to cancel it there.

    Canceling a Backorder

    To cancel a Backorder:

    1. Visit the Guest Order Search.
    2. Enter your Order Number, Email, and Ship to Zip Code.
    3. Click on the "View Order" button.
    4. If the system identifies an order associated with the provided information, you will be redirected to the Order Details page, where you will find the option to cancel the Backordered product.
